چکیده

Vectorcardiograms (VCG) from a consecutive group of 77 patients with significant aortic valve disease were analyzed. All of the patients had complete left and right heart catheterization with normal coronary arteriograms and normal left ventricular contraction. Thirty-five (46%) patients met VCG criteria for anterior myocardial infarction (AMI-35%) and/or inferior myocardial infarction (IMI-14%). This was a significant increase in false positive diagnosis for both criteria compared to a group of 200 normal volunteers under age 30 and 100 patients with normal hearts by cardiac catheterization (P < 0.01). It was found that if the VCG diagnosis of

Vectorcardiographic diagnosis of combined ventricular hypertrophy in adult patients.

The vectorcardiograms of 60 adult patients with established CVH mainly due to acquired heart diseases were analyzed. The study showed that there were essentially 3 characteristic QRS loop patterns for CVH. In approximately one-fourth of the whole patients, a diagnosis of CVH could be made on the proposed vectorcardiographic criteria. It was found that the vectorcardiographic criteria of CVH in ...

Is anterior ST depression with acute transmural inferior infarction due to posterior infarction? A vectorcardiographic and scintigraphic study.

The hypothesis that anterior ST segment depression represents concomitant posterior infarction was tested in 49 patients admitted with a first transmural inferior myocardial infarction. Anterior ST depression was defined as 0.1 mV or more ST depression in leads V1, V2 or V3 on an electrocardiogram recorded within 18 hours of infarction. Serial vectorcardiograms and technetium pyrophosphate scan...

A Clinical Appraisal of the Vectorcardiogram in Myocardial Infarction

IT HAS BEEN ARGUED that the vectorcardiogram should yield no more information than a standard 12-lead electrocardiogram. Yet many authors, including Wolff," 2 Burch,3-5 Scherlis and Grishman6 and Milnor,7 employing different lead systems, have published data indicating that the vectorcardiogram may demonstrate abnormalities not apparent in the electrocardiogram. Of a total of 2,545 vectorcardio...
